Porta Westfalica is a town in the district of Minden Lubbecke in North Rhine Westphalia, Germany. It is situated on the right bank of the Weser, near the Porta Westfalica gorge, where the river runs through the passage between the mountain chains of the Wiehengebirge in the west and the Weserbergland in the east. The total population of the city Porta Westfalica was 37,968 inhabitants in the year 2003 with an area of 105 square kilometers and the population density was 345 per square kilometers.
