Parchim is a town located in the German Bundesland of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, one of the most sparsely populated German states with its Baltic Sea beaches and islands, as well as the many lakes in the interior, attract many tourists every year. Parchim is the capital of the district Parchim which neighbors the districts of, from the north clockwise, Nordwestmecklenburg, Gustrow, Muritz, the district Prignitz in Brandenburg, the district Ludwigslust and the district-free city Schwerin. As of 2003 Parchim had a population of 19,515 residents. It is located at 53 degrees 25 minutes north and 11degrees 50 minutes east.

Tourism in Germany has expanded since the end of World War II, and many tourists visit Germany to experience a sense of European history. The countryside exhibits a pastoral aura, while its cities exhibit both a modern and classical feel.
