Obernkirchen is a town in the district of Schaumburg, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is located roughly 8 kilometers southwest of Stadthagen, and 15 kilometers east of Minden. Obernkirchen is a little town in the shadows of the Buckeberg, a mountain in the Weserbergland. It overlooks the enormous lower lying part of the old county of Schaumburg Lippe, at present the district of Schaumburg, with the City of Buckeburg at its feet.
