Oberndorf am Neckar is a town in the district of Rottweil, in Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. It is situated on the river Neckar, 15 kilometers north of Rottweil. Oberndorf lies in the Neckar Valley, which is between the Black Forest and the Schwabische Alb. The Autobahn A 81 goes through the town, with the Oberndorf exit being about halfway between Stuttgart and Konstanz. Its population till 2005 was 14723 with population density of 263 Einwohner per square kilometers. It covers an area of 5593 square kiolmeters. Oberndorf am Neckar has an elevation of 506 meters above sea level.

The train line Stuttgart-Zurich-Milan goes directly through Oberndorf as well. The city of Oberndorf am Neckar is made up of Oberndorf itself, along with Altoberndorf, Aistaig, Boll, Bochingen, Beffendorf and Hochmossingen, which are all neighborhoods surrounding it. Aside from the beautiful Black Forest and wonderful German countryside, Oberndorf offers much to see. It is well known for it's annual Karneval celebrations, which is still very traditional.

Baden-Wurttemberg is a state of the Federal Republic of Germany in the southwestern part of the country to the east of the Upper Rhine. It is third largest in both area and population among the country's sixteen states, with an area of 35,742 square kilometers and 10.7 million inhabitants. The state capital is Stuttgart. The state borders on Switzerland to the south, on France to the west, and on the German states of Rhineland-Palatinate to the northwest, Hesse to north and Bavaria lies to east. Its principal cities include Stuttgart, Mannheim, Karlsruhe, Freiburg, Heidelberg, Heilbronn, Ludwigsburg, Ulm, Tubingen, Pforzheim and Reutlingen.
