Obermoschel is a town in the district Donnersbergkreis, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is part of the collective municipality, Alsenz-Obermoschel. It is situated 15 km southwest of Bad Kreuznach. Rhineland-Palatinate is one of 16 Bundeslander, the federal states of Germany. It has an area of 19,846 square kilometers and about four million inhabitants. The capital is Mainz.

Rhineland-Palatinate borders on North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse, Baden-Wurttemberg, France, Saarland, Luxembourg and Belgium. The Donnersbergkreis is a district in the middle of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Neighboring districts are Bad Kreuznach, Alzey-Worms, Bad Durkheim, Kaiserslautern and Kusel. The district was created in 1969 by merging the districts Kirchheimbolanden and Rockenhausen. The district is located around the highest mountain of the Palatinate, the Donnersberg with 687 meters above sea level.
