Germany is located in Central Europe and it shares borders with Denmark in the North, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France in the West, Austria and Switzerland in the South and Poland and the Czech Republic in the East. The North Sea and the Baltic Sea represent additional National Borders in the North. The official language of Germany is German and Berlin is the capital.
 
Germany is divided into 16 states which are further subdivided into 439 districts and cities. Germany is one of the largest European economy and the third largest economy in the world in real terms, placed behind the United States and Japan, and fifth behind the United States, China, India and Japan counted by purchasing power parity.
 
Spremberg is one of the popular destinations in Germany, well known for its beautiful countryside and the quantity of cultural related attractions. It is a city in the Spree Neibe district of Brandenburg. The city is located about 20 kilometers to the south of Cottbus, on an island and the two banks of the Spree River.
 
According to precious archeological findings, the first mentions of Spremberg in travel recordings date from 1301. The city also boasts many traces of its colonial past, thus, showing many historical attractions that include salient buildings of neoclassical, modernist, noucentrist and simply eclectic styles.
 
Brandenburg, where Spremberg lies, is one of Germany's sixteen federal states. The state is a part in the east of the country and is one of the new states emerged in 1990 upon the reunification of the former West Germany and East Germany. The capital of the state is Potsdam.

Like some of its sister municipalities and towns in the Spree Neibe, Spremberg is blessed with beautiful surroundings and a unique natural setting. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of the mountains, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people all combine to make this region one of the most important tourist attractions in Germany.
