Sankt Goar am Rhein is one of the popular destinations in Germany, well known for its beautiful countryside and the quantity of cultural related attractions. It is a town in the German federal state of Rhineland Palatinate. Located on the Rhine, in the section known as the Rhine Gorge, Sankt Goar impressively lays amidst the mountains which rise on either side of the river.
 
Particularly known for the legend of the Loreley associated with the dangerous Loreley rocks which are a hazard to shipping, Sankt Goar is also famous for the ruined castle of Burg Rheinfels. In German linguistics, the Sankt Goar Line is an isogloss separating dialects to the north from those to the south.

Sankt Goar boasts many traces of its colonial past and enjoys peaceful lifestyle sheltered from the accelerated pace of the large cities. Even though the town meant partial loss of its tourist profile due to urbanization, some features of its past times of splendor still remain, with hotels and hostelries that are swarmed by thousands of visitors each year.
