Rodental is a town in the district of Coburg, a district in Bavaria, the southernmost state of today's Germany. It is bounded by, from the east and clockwise, the districts of Kronach, Lichtenfels, Bamberg and Hassberge, and by the state of Thuringia, districts Hildburghausen and Sonneberg. The district is surrounding, but not including the city of Coburg. Rodental is situated 7 kilometers northeast of Coburg, a city located on the Itz River in Bavaria, Germany.
