Rethem is a town in Soltau-Falling bostel and it is in state Lower Saxony, located in Germany. It is situated on the river Aller, roughly 25 kilometers southwest of Bad Falling bostel, and 18 kilometers southeast of Verden. Rethem is also the seat of the Samtgemeinde and the collective municipality consists of municipalities such as Bohme, Frankenfeld, Hauslingen, and Rethem. The city had a population of 2,476 in 2005 and total area of 33.76 square kilometers. Lower Saxony in German is known as Niedersachsen and it lies in north-western Germany. It is second in area and fourth in population among the country's sixteen Lander states of Germany.

Rethem is also known as the town of best geographical environment and has traced its origins back to prehistoric times. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and can also enjoy its natural beauty concealed by the beautiful landscapes.
