Zella-Mehlis is a town in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district, in Thuringia, Germany. It is located in the Thuringian Forest, 5 kilometer north of Suhl, and 20 kilometer east of Meiningen. The Free State of Thuringia is called as Freistaat in German. Thuringen lies in the central Germany and is among the smaller of the country's sixteen Bundeslanders, federal states. It is eleventh in size with an area of 16,200 square kilometer. It is the twelfth most populous town with 2.45 million inhabitants. Its capital is Erfurt.
