It is situated near the North Sea coast, approximately 30 kilometers from south of Heide, and 25 kilometers from northeast of Cuxhaven. Schleswig Holstein is the northernmost of the 16 Bundeslander in Germany. Its former English name was Sleswick Holsatia, the Danish name is Slesvig Holsten, the Low German name is Sleswig Holsteen, and the North Frisian name is Slaswik Holstiinj. Dithmarschen is a district in Schleswig Holstein, Germany. The district is located at the North Sea, embraced by the Elbe estuary in the south and the Eider estuary in the north.
