Waren is one of the popular destinations in Germany, well known for its beautiful countryside and the quantity of cultural related attractions. It is a town in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and the capital of the Muritz district. Situated on the northern end of Lake Muritz, approximately 40 kilometers west of Neubrandenburg, Waren enjoys peaceful lifestyle sheltered from the accelerated pace of the large cities.

The Muritz Lake has an area of 117 square kilometers and is the second largest lake of Germany after Lake Constance. Muritz is a district in the southern part of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Its neighboring districts are Demmin, Mecklenburg-Strelitz, the district-free city Neubrandenburg, the district Ostprignitz-Ruppin in Brandenburg, Parchim and Gustrow.

Like some of its sister municipalities and towns, Waren is blessed with beautiful surroundings and a unique natural setting. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of the mountains, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people all combine to make this region one of the most important tourist attractions in Germany.
