Waldbrol is one of the popular destinations in Germany, well known for its beautiful countryside and the quantity of cultural related attractions. It is a town in the south of Oberbergischer Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia, about 50 kilometers east of Cologne. The neighboring municipalities of Waldbrol include Numbrecht, Morsbach and Reichshof. The city has a total area of 63.33 square kilometers and population of 19,662 inhabitants as of 2005.
 
According to precious archeological documentary, the first mentions of Waldbrol date from 1131. The coat of arms of Waldbrol which is entitled to lead Waldbrol since 1952 is described in 2 Paragraph 2 of the main statute of the city. The places and buildings of interest in the city include monument in front of the Ev. Church built in 1863 for Prussia king Friedrich Wilhelm III in the Protestant church.

Presently, Waldbrol experiences a boom with day tourists, owing to the clear air, town character with rich culture, high quality of life and conspicuously original history. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of nature, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people also combine to make this region one of the most important tourist attractions in Germany.
