Waischenfeld is one of the popular destinations in Germany, well known for its beautiful countryside and the quantity of cultural related attractions. It is a town in the district of Bayreuth, which is in state Bavaria and lies in Franconian Switzerland, 20 kilometers southwest of Bayreuth.
 
The free state of Bavaria, where Waischenfeld lies, forms the southernmost state of today's Germany. With a total land area of 70,553 square kilometers and population of 12.4 million inhabitants, Bavaria shares international borders with Austria and the Czech Republic as well as with Switzerland. Bavaria has a unicameral Landtag, or state parliament, elected by universal suffrage.
