Lubbenau is a town, which is in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district of Brandenburg, located in Germany. It is located in the Spreewald. The city has a population of 17,897 inhabitants. Brandenburg’s Lower Sorbian is known as Bramborska and Upper Sorbian as Braniborska and is one of Germany's sixteen Bundeslander federal states. It lies in the east of the country as it is one of the new states created in 1990 upon the reunification of the former West Germany and East Germany. Brandenburg surrounds but excludes the national capital Berlin. Historically Brandenburg was an independent state which grew to become the core of modern Germany.
