Kraichtal is a town in Northern Karlsruhe district in Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. Its population in 2004 was 14,977 with an area of 80.56 square kilometers. It covers population density of 186 per square kilometers and has an elevation of 143 meters above sea level. Baden-Wurttemberg is a state of the Federal Republic of Germany in the southwestern part of the country to the east of the Upper Rhine. It is third largest in both area and population among the country's sixteen states, with an area of 35,742 square kilometers and 10.7 million inhabitants. The state capital is Stuttgart.
