Kornwestheim is a town in the district of Ludwigsburg, Baden-Wurttemberg, a state of the Federal Republic of Germany in the southwestern part of the country to the east of the Upper Rhine. It is third largest in both area and population among the country's sixteen states. Kornwestheim is situated about 10 kilometers north of Stuttgart, and 5 kilometers south of Ludwigsburg, a city in Germany, about 12 kilometers north of Stuttgart's city center, near the river Neckar. As of 2004 Kornwestheim had a population of 30,648 inhabitants living within an area of 14.64 square kilometers and had a population density of 2,093 inhabitants per square kilometer. It lies situated at an elevation of 303 meters above sea level.
 
The Kornwestheim Drive-In Cinema is the only drive-in cinema in Baden-Wuerttemberg, lies in the city of the same name in the district Ludwigsburg and is a regionally well-known landmark.
