Korntal-Munchingen is a town in the district of Ludwigsburg, Baden-Wurttemberg which is the third largest in both area and population among the sixteen states of Germany. Korntal-Munchingen is situated 8 kilometers northwest of Stuttgart, the capital of the state of Baden-Württemberg, and 10 kilometers southwest of Ludwigsburg. The city was created in the year 1975, after the up to then independent city with the municipality Muenchingen united grain valley. Korntal Muenchingen lies in the Strohgaeu at an altitude of 285 to 405 meters height, northwest of the state capital Stuttgart and borders directly on these.
