Isselburg is a town and a municipality in the district of Borken in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is located on the river Issel, near the border with the Netherlands, approx. 10 kilometers west of Bocholt. The largest villages are Anholt, Isselburg, and Werth. Smaller communities include Vehlingen, Herzebocholt and Heelden.
 
North Rhine-Westphalia in terms of population and economic output is the largest Federal State of Germany. North Rhine-Westphalia has over 18 million inhabitants, contributes about 22 percent of Germany's gross domestic product and comprises a land area of 34,083 square kilometers or 13,158 square miles. North Rhine-Westphalia is situated in the Western part of Germany and shares borders with Belgium and the Netherlands.
