Lauterstein is a municipality in the district of Goppingen, in Baden Wurttemberg, Germany. It is located 15 kilometers from east of Goppingen and 11 kilometers from southeast of Schwabisch Gmund. Baden Wurttemberg is a state of the Federal Republic of Germany in the southwestern part of the country to the east of the Upper Rhine. It is third biggest in both area and population among the country's sixteen states, with an area of 35,742 square kilometers and 10.7 million inhabitants. Its capital is Stuttgart.
