Lauterecken is a city and a municipality in the district of Kusel, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is located on the rivers Glan and Lauter, approximately 20 kilometers north-east of Kusel and 25 kilometers north-west of Kaiserslautern. Rhineland-Palatinate is one of 16 federal states of Germany. It has an area of 19,846 square kilometers and about four million inhabitants. Its capital is Mainz.

Lauterecken is also the seat of the Verbandsgemeinde and is a collective municipality. Lauterecken, which consists of the following local municipalities Adenbach, Buborn, Cronenberg, Deimberg, Heinzenhausen, Hoppstadten, Kappeln, Lohnweiler, Odenbach and Wiesweiler. It is a city with endless recreational opportunities, rich history, and modern day luxuries. Lauterecken is an attractive city with natural beauty and historical places, while traveling in Germany.
