Germany is located in Central Europe and it shares borders with Denmark in the North, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France in the West, Austria and Switzerland in the South and Poland and the Czech Republic in the East. Germany is one of the largest European economy and the third largest economy in the world in real terms, placed behind the United States and Japan, and fifth behind the United States, China, India and Japan counted by purchasing power parity.
 
Ingelheim am Rhein is one of the popular destinations in Germany, and is well known for the quantity of cultural related attractions and monuments. It is the administrative centre of the Mainz-Bingen local government, situated on the left bank of the Rhine within the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The town has approximately 25,000 inhabitants.

According to precious archeological findings, it can be affirmed that this area was first populated during the Roman era. Ingelheim received greatest importance during the reign of Charlemagne who built a palace there. In later medieval times the importance of the palace declined but was briefly revitalized by Emperor Frederick Barbarossa, who greatly admired Charlemagne.

Apart from the remnants of the Carolingian palace, there are a numerous other historical buildings and attractions that include the Burgkirche church, whose fortifications protected the townsfolk from marauding troops during many wars over the centuries, the famous red wine festival that is held in these picturesque surroundings and many more.
 
The industrial development in this municipality has been a determining factor for its economical growth. Boehringer-Ingelheim has developed as one of the world's 20 leading pharmaceutical cities. Today it is a striving small-to-medium town with a newly-built centre, which enjoys a good climate, interesting surroundings, many employment opportunities, a variety of schools and the vicinity of the busy Rhine-Main area with the Frankfurt airport as its hub.
 
Like some of its sister municipalities and towns, Ingelheim am Rhein is blessed with beautiful surroundings and a unique natural setting. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of the mountains, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people all combine to make this region one of the most important tourist attractions in Germany.
