Geithain (Saxony)

Geithain is a municipality in the Leipziger Land district, in the Free State of Saxony, Germany. It is located 30 kilometers northwest of Chemnitz and 40 kilometers southeast of Leipzig. The Free State of Saxony is a federal state of Germany. It has a land area of 18,413 square kilometers and a population of 4.3 million, the tenth-largest in area and sixth-largest in population among Germany's sixteen states.
Saxony borders, on Poland, the Czech Republic and the German states of Bavaria, Thuringia, Saxony-Anhalt and Brandenburg. Its capital is Dresden and the other principal cities are Leipzig and Chemnitz.
