Eschershausen is a town and a municipality in the district of Holzminden, which is in Lower Saxony, located in Germany. It is situated roughly 20 kilometers northeast of Holzminden, and 50 kilometers south of Hanover. Eschershausen is also the seat of the Samtgemeinde which is shared municipality. It consists of several municipalities such as Dielmissen, Eschershausen, Eimen, Holzen and Luerdissen.
 
Lower Saxony in German is known as Niedersachsen and lies in north-western Germany and is second in the region and fourth in population amongst the country's sixteen Lander states of Germany. In rural areas Low German is still spoken, although the number of speakers is declining. It has area of 47,618 square kilometers and almost eight million inhabitants.
