Dierdorf (Rhineland-Palatinate)

Dierdorf is a town and a municipality in the district of Neuwied, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is located in the Westerwald, approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Neuwied, and 20 kilometers north of Koblenz. It has 5845 inhabitants on a surface of 31, 90 square kilometers and is seat of the convention community Dierdorf. The first land development in Dierdorf decreases back to the year 1100. The first documentary mention of a Pfarrei Dyrdorph took place in the year 1204. Dierdorf received municipal rights on 17 June 1357.
 
Since 1995 Dierdorf and the French municipality Courtisols were connected the city to a partnership between cities. Likewise a partnership with fountain hills, Arizona existssince 2005. An indirect partnership between cities exists with Krotoszyn. The convention community Dierdorf maintains a local partnership with the Polish city.
 
Dierdorf is also known as the town of best geographical environment and has traced its origins back to prehistoric times. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and can also enjoy its natural beauty concealed by the beautiful landscapes.
