Creuzburg (Thuringia)

Creuzburg is a town on the Werra More river into the waiting castle circle in Thuringia, Germany. Creuzburg is into the area known as the shelly limestone. In 1137 Propstei Creuzburg came into the possession of the Thuringian Ludowinger. The farmers in a settlement at the foot of the mountain, scattered in the region and began summarizing on the mountain with the building of a castle. Thus the city Creuzburg was put on according to plan and equipped 1213 with municipal rights such as heraldry and jurisdiction and surrounded by a wall. The neighboring village of the town is Scherbda. Due to its many historic events and places it has been one of the favorite destinations of visitors.
