The small town of Bebra is located in the district Hersfeld-Rotenburg of Hesse in the center of Germany. Bebra is situated at the Fulda River between Bad Hersfeld and Rotenburg an der Fulda. Larger cities in the vicinity are Kassel to the north and Fulda to the south. Frankfurt is about 150 kilometers south-west of Bebra. Bebra is twinned with the town of Knaresborough in north England. Hesse is a state of Germany with an area of 21,110 square kilometers and just over six million inhabitants. The capital city of Hesse is Wiesbaden, while its economic center and largest city is nearby Frankfurt am Main and the surrounding Rhine Main Area.
