Barnau is a town in the district of Tirschenreuth, in Bavaria, Germany. It is situated near the border with the Czech Republic, 25 kilometers northeast of Weiden in der Oberpfalz, and 26 kilometers southwest of Marianske Lazne. The Free State of Bavaria with an area of 70,553 square kilometers or 27,241 square miles and 12.4 million inhabitants, forms the southernmost state of today's Germany. Its capital is Munich.
