Balingen is a town in Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany, capital of the district of Zollernalbkreis. It is situated in the Swabian Alb, approximately 35 kilometers northeast of Villingen-Schwenningen, and 60 kilometers southwest of Stuttgart. Its population in 2005 was 34,338, area is 90.34 square kilometers, population density is 380 per square kilometers and is elevated at 519 meters.
