Bad Soden-Salmunster is a town in the Main-Kinzig district, a Kreis or district in the east of Hesse, which is situated in western-central Germany, bordering on, from the north-west and clockwise, the German states of North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony, Thuringia, Bavaria, Baden-Wurttemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate. Bad Soden-Salmunster is situated on the river Kinzig, a right tributary of the Main River between Fulda, which is located on the Fulda River and Hanau, which is located 25 kilometers east of Frankfurt am Main.
