Germany is one of the largest European economy and the third largest economy in the world in real terms, placed behind the United States and Japan, and fifth behind the United States, China, India and Japan counted by purchasing power parity.
 
Arnstadt is a city in Ilm-Kreis, Thuringia, Germany, located on the Gera River. It is one of the oldest towns in Thuringia and is nicknamed Das Tor zum Thuringer Wald, The Gate to the Thuringian Forest. In the 14th century Arnstadt was ruled by the counts of Schwarzburg and later became the capital of Schwarzburg-Sonderhausen. Modern Arnstadt has a populace of approximately 25,000.
 
It is a manufacturing center, with glassworks and foundries, as well as glove-manufacturing and wood-finishing businesses. Manganese is one of the ores mined in the surrounding area. Arnstadt has a wonderfully kept Old City, restricted to pedestrian traffic. Some of its notable buildings include the 13th century Church of their Lady and an 18th century palace. Arnstadt is an attractive city with natural beauty and historical places, while traveling in Germany.
