Adenau is a municipality and a town in the district of Ahrweiler, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is located in the Eifel Mountains, approximately 25 kilometers south-west of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler. The city is well-known because is located at one side of the Nordschleife of the Nurburgring. Rhineland-Palatinate is one of 16 federal states of Germany. It has an area of 19,846 square kilometers and about four million inhabitants. The capital is Mainz.
