Witten




Germany is located in Central Europe and it shares borders with Denmark in the North, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France in the West, Austria and Switzerland in the South and Poland and the Czech Republic in the East. The North Sea and the Baltic Sea represent additional National Borders in the North. The official language of Germany is German and Berlin is the capital. Germany is divided into 16 states which are further subdivided into 439 districts and cities. Germany is one of the largest European economy and the third largest economy in the world in real terms, placed behind the United States and Japan, and fifth behind the United States, China, India and Japan counted by purchasing power parity.
 
Witten is a German town known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages. It is also one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers. Located in the North Rhine-Westphalia, which is in the southern Ruhr area, Witten has a total land area of 72.40 square kilometers with a population of more than 100,000 inhabitants as of 2005 census and population density of 1395 inhabitants per square kilometer.
 
There are four mosques in Witten, Annen and Herbede today, which were founded by immigrants from Turkey who came in the 1970s and 1980s and are most famous tourist attractions. The town centre also has buildings in a wide range of styles that include neoclassical, modernist, noucentrist and simply eclectic.
 
Presently, Witten experiences a sharp social, economic and population growth derivative of the strategic position of the locality and the high level of well-being and quality of life that is enjoyed with respect to other places of Germany.
