Weinheim

Germany is located in Central Europe and it shares borders with Denmark in the North, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France in the West, Austria and Switzerland in the South and Poland and the Czech Republic in the East. The North Sea and the Baltic Sea represent additional National Borders in the North. The official language of Germany is German and Berlin is the capital. The climate is quite pleasant with almost all variety of seasonal flavors as temperate, marine, cool, cloudy, wet winters and summers, occasional warm, tropical foehn wind and high relative humidity.

Germany is divided into 16 states which are further subdivided into 439 districts and cities. Germany is one of the largest European economy and the third largest economy in the world in real terms, placed behind the United States and Japan, and fifth behind the United States, China, India and Japan counted by purchasing power parity.

Weinheim is a German city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages. It is also one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers. Located in the north west of the state of Baden-Wurttemberg approximately 15 kilometers north of Heidelberg and 10 kilometers northeast of Mannheim, Weinheim together with these cities makes up the Rhine-Neckar triangle.

The earliest record of Weinheim dates back to 755 AD, when the name Winenheims was recorded in the Lorscher Codex, the record book of the Lorsch monastery. In 1000 AD, emperor Otto III bestowed Weinheim the right to hold markets, and in 1065 the right to mint and issue coins. Later, with the transfer to the duke of Baden in 1803, Weinheim became a regional centre, which was unified with Mannheim in 1936. From 1938, Weinheim belonged to the district of Mannheim until January 1, 1973, when the Rhine- Neckar district was formed.

Presently, Weinheim experiences a sharp social, economic and population growth derivative of the strategic position of the locality and the high level of well-being and quality of life that is enjoyed with respect to other places of Germany. This fact has consolidated along with other adjacent municipalities, as a great alternative for residence.
