Warendorf




Germany is located in Central Europe and it shares borders with Denmark in the North, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France in the West, Austria and Switzerland in the South and Poland and the Czech Republic in the East. The North Sea and the Baltic Sea represent additional National Borders in the North. The official language of Germany is German and Berlin is the capital. The climate is quite pleasant with almost all variety of seasonal flavors as temperate, marine, cool, cloudy, wet winters and summers, occasional warm, tropical foehn wind and high relative humidity.
 
Germany is divided into 16 states which are further subdivided into 439 districts and cities. Germany is one of the largest European economy and the third largest economy in the world in real terms, placed behind the United States and Japan, and fifth behind the United States, China, India and Japan counted by purchasing power parity.
 
Warendorf is a municipality in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany and capital of Warendorf District. In 2004, the population of the city was 38,781 and an area of 176.75 square kilometers. Warendorf was a significant trading centre in the Late Middle Ages and belonged to the Hanseatic League. The town is best known today for its well preserved medieval town centre, for horse-riding and the opportunities it provides for cycling.
 
Bicycles are such a common means of transport in the area that many cycle paths have been built, even alongside main roads outside the town. Warendorf has hosted numerous international events, such as the world skydiving championships, riding events, and the national swimming championships. A notable annual event in Warendorf is the celebration on 15 August of the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is a city with endless recreational opportunities, rich history, and modern day luxuries.
