Waiblingen is a municipality in the southwest of Germany, located in the center of the compactly populated Stuttgart Region, directly neighboring Stuttgart. It is the capital of the Rems-Murr district. In 2004, the population of the city was 52,948 inhabitants and an area of 42.76 square kilometers. Waiblingen was first mentioned in Carolingian documents in 885 at the time of Charles the Fat. It received its town charter in 1250. Its fortifications are now well restored. Waiblingen houses the principal office of the World's biggest chainsaw manufacturer, Stihl.

A city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages, Waiblingen is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
