Viersen is a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is the capital of the Kreis Viersen. It is situated at approximately 8 kilometers from the north-west of Monchengladbach and 15 kilometers from the south-west of Krefeld. The population of the city as of 2005 is 76,608.
