Singen




Germany is located in Central Europe and it shares borders with Denmark in the North, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France in the West, Austria and Switzerland in the South and Poland and the Czech Republic in the East. Germany is divided into 16 states which are further subdivided into 439 districts and cities. Germany is one of the largest European economy and the third largest economy in the world in real terms, placed behind the United States and Japan, and fifth behind the United States, China, India and Japan counted by purchasing power parity.
 
Singen is a municipality in the very south of the federal state of Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. It is an industrial city located north of the German-Swiss border. Its population is 45,420 and an area of 61.75 square kilometers. The most renowned sight of Singen is Hohentwiel Mountain, a volcano that became extinct long time ago. On top of the mountain lies Hohentwiel fortress. The fort that once stood there was destroyed by French troops during the Napoleonic Wars. Further sights in Singen are the Geographic Museum and the local Saint Martin Church with its Gothic tower.

A city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages, Singen is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
