Rottenburg is a town in the state of Baden-Wurttemberg which is located in Germany on the river Neckar, near Tubingen. As of June 2005, Rottenburg had a population of 42899 inhabitants. The city has an area of 142.26 square kilometers with a population density of 302 per square kilometer. In discovered history of Rottenburg, the city was originally founded as a Roman town named as Sumelocenna. The modern Rottenburg is divided into a city core and seventeen districts.
 
Rottenburg is also said to be as one of the best geographical environment and can trace its origins back to prehistoric times. This is evident from the archaeological sites found throughout the Rottenburg town. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and pursue enthusiasm in its natural beauty and populace.
