Leonberg is a town in the district of Boblingen, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. It is situated about 13 kilometers west of Stuttgart. The town is most famous for being the birth place of the dog breed, Leonberger. The population of the city in 2004 was 45,607. The area of the city is 48.73 square kilometers with a population density of 936 per square kilometers. The city is elevated at about 394 meters from the sea-level.
 
Leonberg is also said to be as one of the best geographical environment and can trace its origins back to prehistoric times. This is evident from the archaeological sites found throughout the Leonberg town. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and pursue enthusiasm in its natural beauty and populace.
