Pulheim

Pulheim is a city in the Rhein-Erft-Kreis, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It has 53,692 citizens in 2002, and is located northwest from Cologne. Since the 1920s, a large substation of the RWE, Rheinisch-Westfalisches Elektrizitatswerk has been sited at Pulheim. At this substation there is the termination of the north south power line and a large control center for the powergrid of the RWE. Its population is 53,309 with density 739 per square km with area 72.14 per square kilometers. In the communal reform of 1975 several previously independent municipalities were added to the municipality Pulheim, which received city rights in 1981.

Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and gain enthusiasm in its natural beauty and populace. Pulheim enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers.
