Bad Oeynhausen is a spa town in the Minden-Lubbecke district, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, with a population of just over 50,000. The city is located on the banks of the Weser River, which runs along the eastern edges of the city. After World War II Bad Oeynhausen became the headquarters of the British troops in Germany.
 
It had a population of 53,440 inhabitants as of the 2004 census and a surface area of 64.8 square kilometers and population density of 825 per square kilometers. The German international and Hertha Berliner Sport Club is situated in this city. Berlin footballer, Arne Friedrich was born there and it has the world's highest natural fountain, the Jordan Sprudel.
 
The city is divided in 8 districts including Bad Oeynhausen, Dehme, Eidinghausen, Lohe, Rehme, Volmerdingsen, Werste, and Wulferdingsen. A city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, luxurious hotels and cottages, Bad Oeynhausen is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
